Weekend Musings

& what a weekend it has been!

& what a weekend it has been!

To give you a quick overview of how our weekend has panned out here in rainy Lancashire, our porch is really coming along (I fully intend on showing you the progress of this from start to finish when it's all complete). As well as that, I have been super busy getting things sorted for the imminent arrival of our little baby girl. I'm feeling super productive this morning after such a great weekend of ticking things off my to-do list. So, let's diverge into the weekend's shenanigans...

Friday was a lovely day as I went back to a school where I've taught a lot at and was able to catch up with people. After work, feeling completely exhausted, Ben and I decided to bog off the idea of making tea and instead (*drum roll please*) went out for tea. Yes, we bloody well did and it was such a great decision to do so! We went to our favourite local pub where we had our favourite food and chatted endlessly about all things wedding/baby/home. I said I'd let you in on what my top secret activities were last weekend, and here we go... I was writing mine and Ben's wedding invites! We are getting married in May 2019 in the beautiful Kefalonia. I cannot wait to share all of our pictures with you after the wedding, it will be so special to document it on my beloved blog!

Anyway, getting back to the nitty gritty of this past weekend. Saturday started off well as Ben and I ventured out to our local building merchants to buy timber for the next steps of our porch's construction. Afterwards, in tradition, we had a quick (& naughty) bite to eat at McDonalds before heading home. Ben cracked on with the porch along with his dad and older brother. I, on the other hand, plugged ahead with tidying up before Mike (my brother) and his girlfriend, Daniela; came over for a walk. We went for a leisurely walk around a picturesque woodland with Harry (the pooch) before indulging in Eastern European croissants with a hot cuppa when we got back home. I then went to dad's along with Mike and Daniela which was a lovely way to finish the day.

On Sunday, I woke up feeling quite nauseous, I'm not sure whether it was dehydration or the fact that I was hungry (or both!?) but I woke up very early to help myself to a bagel. Going back to bed after my early morning snack seemed to do the trick and I had a lie in which meant that when I finally did arise, I felt so much better. I nipped out to our local supermarket to purchase some delicious - and totally necessary goods - before making our weekly batch of pancakes. In the afternoon, I continued to organise mine, Ben's and our baby's belongings into roll-on suitcases for when I eventually do go into labour. I was thinking of doing a hospital bag video on YouTube, so if this sounds up your street, let me know in the comments below. And finally the afternoon saw me doing more masters work and then ironing whilst watching Netflix.

Happy Monday! I'd love to know if you've been up to anything interesting this weekend.
