This Autumn What I Can't Wait For | Top 10

It literally feels like yesterday that I was writing my Weekend Musings blog post about how the summer was in full swing. And yes, I am aware that technically it is still considered to be summer in the UK. However, as September has rolled around ever-so-quickly, I can't help but feel full of excitement and optimism at the thought of Autumn.

Growing up, Autumn was mine and my cousin's favourite time of year. Every year, without fail, my mum would organise the best Halloween parties for me, my close family and friends. We would play classic games, like duck apple and bob apple. We would make witches' hats (if you haven't heard of these, then boy are you in for a treat with my upcoming post!).

Needless to say, Autumn was always an extremely happy season in my childhood. And even though things have changed massively for myself and my family over the past two years (I can't believe I'm actually saying that, it still feels like yesterday mum was starting the chemo) I still feel the same child-like excitement about this impending season.

So, you may ask, what are the top 10 things you can't wait for?

1. The arrival of mine and Ben's baby girl in early November.

2. Experimenting with different soup recipes each weekend, I especially want to try making a pumpkin soup.

3. Autumnal walks with Harry through a thick blanket of crunchy, orange leaves.

4. Picking blackberries and making a yummy, heartwarming pie.

5. Getting stuck into both The Great British Bake Off and The Apprentice.

6. Lighting the fire of an evening and snuggling up on the sofa (while probably watching one of the above).

7. Going pumpkin picking and decorating the front of the house with an array of delightful pumpkins (the soup mentioned in numero 2 will most likely be made out the of the contents of these!)

8. Snuggling under the thick duvet in bed (along with our Laura Ashley winter bed throw) and listening to the howling wind outside the sash windows.

9. Watching Hocus Pocus on repeat.

10. Unleashing my winter wardrobe from their boxes and discovering my old love for my jumpers and cosy ensembles.

I've probably missed a ton out of this, so if you have any other things that you can't wait for, please do let me know below!!
