Pregnancy Update | Less Than 2 Months


Saturday 1st September marked the start of the 2 month countdown to my due date. I know that many pregnancies, especially first-time pregnancies, end up running past the due date, but I can't believe how quickly it is approaching! I am so, so excited. So, what is there to say about the less than 2 month mark?


Bump:
The bump is growing steadily. I had my 32 week midwife appointment on Monday and she measured the fundal* height of our baby girl and she is perfectly in line with where she should be which is fantastic news! My bump is very noticeable now and is lovely and round which makes me feel so proud of the growth of mine and Ben's baby.

*Fundal height is the measurement of the distance between the pubic bone and top of the uterus, measured in centimetres.

Positioning:
Our little love has been in the optimum position since my 25 week antenatal appointment, meaning that she is head down, with her back against my tummy. The midwife at my 28 week antenatal appointment let me feel where her head, back and bum was, which was amazing! Sometimes, depending on the position she's in, I can feel exactly where her little bottom is!

Movements:
Baby Moen has definitely developed a sleeping pattern! She sleeps all the way through the night when I am sleeping (which is a blessing). She will usually get active when she hears the alarms going off in the morning and will be a busy bee for around 1 - 2 hours. Then she has in between her busy periods, a nap of between 3 - 4 hours. In the middle of the day she will get busy again and then in the evening is when she loves to have a good jiggle around. She definitely takes after both me and Ben, she's for sure more of a night person rather than morning. 

Sleep:
What sleep? I said goodbye to comfortable sleep way back in week 25! I wake up generally around the same time every night, between 3am and 5:30am. This is usually due to hip pain as I am constantly sleeping on my left hand side, my left hip gets awful cramping pain. To eradicate this, I have to sit up on the edge of the bed. However, my mind seems to be running wild with thoughts at the minute and so I end up flicking through my phone until the sleep catches me. However, I really do feel the effects of this later in the day and am currently having between 1 - 2 naps per day.

Cravings:
I have to say, I don't know what all the craving talk is about. I haven't had a single craving. Only when I am feeling tired I want a Double Decker chocolate bar, but I would usually crave after one of those as it is my favourite chocolate. But I wouldn't say I crave them, it's just something I turn to for an energy boost.

Nursery:
The nursery is complete - albeit a hot mess because we have her pram in her room, her cot and ISOFIX base, along with other essentials. I am desperately searching for a narrow, white chest of drawers to organise all of her bits and bobs in, like thermometer, cotton buds, nappies etc. At the minute everything is organised into bags in the wardrobe.

Hospital bag:
I know I am only 32 weeks along, but as I had my scare of Braxton Hicks in week 27, I don't want to take any chances and so have started the exciting process of packing the hospital bag.

Nesting:
Yes, I most definitely am. However, as I have pulled my stomach muscles 3 times now, I have been told by my midwife not to do any brushing, mopping or bending over. And thus I am feeling the need to clean, but limited to what I can actually do!
