Precious Jewels

It is very important to make sure that your precious jewels are always kept clean and precious-looking. You don't want to be spending a huge amount on a piece of jewellery, to only neglect it and leave it looking abandoned and unloved.
So I have come to save the day *yippee* with my precious tips.

Step 1: Place your silver jewellery in a "Tupperware" like container with a lid that seals shut
Step 2: Place a wadded piece of aluminium foil in the bowl with the jewellery and place the lid on the bowl.
Step 3: Replace the foil every week or two.
Step 1: Put a few drops of liquid dish detergent in a bowl of warm water. Mix gently. For even better results, you can use sodium-free seltzer water or club soda. {The carbonation loosens soil and removes debris.}
Step 2: Soak the gold jewellery in the solution for 15 minutes.
Step 3: Scrub each piece of jewellery with a soft-bristle toothbrush. Stiff bristles can scratch the surface of your jewellery. Special brushes designed for this purpose are best, but an eyebrow brush will also work.
Step 4: Rinse each piece in warm running water.
Step 5: Blot with a soft cloth.
Step 1: Add a stopper to your sink to ensure that your diamonds do not fall through.
Step 2: Fill the stopped up sink with hot water.
Step 3: Microwave the window cleaner for about 30 seconds.
Step 4: Dip the diamonds and the toothbrush in the hot window cleaner.
Step 5: Remove the diamonds from the window cleaning solution, and scrub them carefully with the toothbrush.
Step 6: Rinse the diamonds in the hot water.
Step 7: Pat the diamonds dry with a soft chamois towel.
Put make up, moisturisers and perfumes on before you put on your jewellery. These chemicals can harm your jewellery and discolour them. Leave it a good ten minutes after spraying on perfume or any moisturisers before you put your precious jewellery on.
When you're not using or wearing your jewellery, put it in it's original box or/and dust bag to make sure that it is protected!

  1. You just reminded me I need to do this! thanks! x

    1. Ha, it's okay!
It's hard to keep track of cleaning jewellery as there's so much to clean!
